Creative Writing for the K1

Weeeee~ Look at the K1s doing their Creative Writing. It is a whole new thing for the children. They are now independently writing the two sentences for their Creative Writing.

Earth hour @ PRCC

Do you know what is happening between 8.30pm to 9.30pm on 27 March 2010? We are switching off all the lights at home! No! Not because that we are going to sleep already! But because it is the "Earth hour"!

Oh yes! Ms Herma talked about the Earth hour. She told us that the "Earth hour" was started two years back in Sydney! Sydney was dark for an hour. It looked as though the "earth was sleeping."

She got us to shut our eyes for a whole of 3 minutes and experience darkness. Oh boy were we glad when Ms Herma got us to open up our eyes again! Ms Herma also switched off the lights and talked about what we could and what we could not do in darkness. She asked if being in a dark room or a bright room was better. Our answers were obvious. Bright room, Ms Herma! When asked how we could make a dark room bright, we came up with intelligent answers. We said, "Switch on the lights", "Light a candle", "Use a torchlight" and "Click any buttons on your handphone to give off the light". Ms Herma gave us a round of applause for all our answers.

What we enjoyed most during the session was...

When teacher covered us with a huuuuggggeeee blanket. It was definitely dark in there!

WOW! What's up @ Sage?

We have always made it a practise for us to recite Doa Gain Knowledge before we start our daily lesson.

And when some are doing their "WOW! What's up?" activities with Teacher Suhaida... the rest are enjoying themselves at the MI stations in class!
